Computer Aided Analysis and Design Laboratory

Laboratory Name : Computer Aided Analysis and Design
Area of Laboratory : 66.8 sq.m
Laboratory In charge : Dr. A. K. Hashmi
Laboratory Information :

Throughout the history of science and technology two alternative approaches,
namely experimental and analytical methods, have been used to produce new
advances. Empirical based research has asked continuously for more and more
sophisticated facilities and analytical work entered into computational
approaches since the developing of digital computers. Analyze beams, trusses (2D and 3D) and frames (2D and 3D) for joint displacements and member forces. Students can  develop computer programs on spreadsheet, C, JAVA, DOT. NET, SCILAB, PYTHON for analysis of structures .
Moreover students can utilize software for structural analysis and design like Bentley STAAD Pro V8i, ETAB, SAP, SeismoStruct, SeismoSoft, SeismoSignal, and many more tools .

Equipments:-

  1. Lenovo Thinkcentre Desktops with Intel 3.15 GHz processor, 4Gb RAM and 2Gb GPU
  2. Printer
  3. Projector
  4. STAAD Pro V8i SS6
  5. ETAB
  6. SAP
  7. SeismoStruct
  8. SeismoSoft
  9. SeismoSignal
  10. Scilab
  11. Python

List of Experiments:-

[A] Building Planning and Drawing

Submission and Working drawing: Scale 1: 100 (by hand as well as by Auto CAD)

  1. Developed plan
  2. Plan/typical floor plan Elevation
  3. Foundation plan
  4. Simple section and section passing through Staircase
  5. Water supply and drainage layout
  6. Municipal submission drawing Working drawing
  7. Foundation / center line drawing
  8. Electrification plan
  9. Water supply & drainage plan
  10. Furniture plan

DESIGN OF STRUCTURES (STEEL) - I

To the scale sketching would be done in the sketch book by hand and then the drawings would be drafted using Drafting Package/ Auto Cad. Six half imperial size drawing sheets would be drawn using drafting software/ Auto CAD

DESIGN OF STRUCTURES (RCC-WSM) - II

Design of structural element by any suitable design software.(For e.g. STAAD, SAP, STRL)

DESIGN OF STRUCTURES (RCC- LSM) –IV

Analysis and Design of Multistory Buildings .(G +3) ; Imperial size drawing sheets Hand drafted or AUTO CAD drafter or ammonia prints covering details of different structural components .

OR

Design & drawing of Elevated water Tanks including supporting structures.

Design and Drawing of Flat slab.

Design and drawing of PSC simply supported girder with end block.
