In India the cement industry underwent a number of changes and reforms mainly to suit the demands of construction industries. This leads to the production of high quality cement. Concrete with higher strength is always in demand. The mechanical strength of concrete depends on proportioning of its ingredient materials; cement, sand, aggregate, water and admixtures. This proportion directly and indirectly affects the fresh and hardened properties of concrete.
With an intention to equip students with the updated knowledge of ongoing mix design practices in construction fields, civil department has organized a two day workshop on Concrete Mix Design in association with Ambuja cement, Nanded on 16th -17th Feburary 2012 for second year civil engineering students, 11th -12th March 2012 for third year students, and 23rd -24th April 2012 for final year students.
