Initially, in this competition there were 4 Lakh Teams who have submitted their solution to respective Ministries or Companies, out of them 11,000 Teams where shortlisted for Grand Finale which makes it World Largest Hackathon.
Problem Statement:
“Knowledge sharing platform for problem solving”.
“Labour” being a Concurrent Subject, States too have Labour Institutes which also operate with near similar objectives. A lot of knowledge and expertise is generated by these institutions on a day to day basis and a common IT platform (interactive) is required to share the same on a real time basis. To do so we need to have an interactive platform.
Innovative Solution Proposed by Team “Arcana”:
The team “Arcana” build a data analytics based portal for ministry of labour and employment, which will help them to address particular set of labours and employees for awareness via email subscription, SMS alerts, WhatsApp for business.Currently every state of India has different sites and databases. This portal will be single website and it will manage only single database for India to sync data across nation.

Expert Lecture by Mr. Mukesh Jain, Adjunct Faculty
Mr. Mukesh Jain, CTO, VFS Global, Mumbai, an alumnus of 1996 CSE batch, has conducted an expert lecture on latest trends in the Technology as Adjunct Faculty on 14 July 2018 at 11.30am. He elaborated the latest trends in corporate world such as Data Analytics, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence to the students of third and final year. He started with the importance of data analytics in which Mr. Jain explained with the help of different examples about how the field of data analytics is applicable in various application software. He then talked at length about how data analytics can be linked with machine learning. He mentioned in his talk that there is lot of scope of research in this area. Artificial Intelligence is at the top of the data analytics and machine learning. Concept of machine learning helps machines to take the decisions intelligently. As a concluding note he suggested our students about few online websites such as courser.org, hackerrank etc that would help them to learn the advance topics and the content beyond the syllabus in detail.
Machine learning is a subset of artificial intelligence in the field of computer science that often uses statistical techniques to give computers the ability to "learn" (i.e., progressively improve performance on a specific task) with data, without being explicitly programmed.
Machine learning is closely related to (and often overlaps with) computational statistics, which also focuses on prediction-making through the use of computers. It has strong ties to mathematical optimization, which delivers methods, theory and application domains to the field. Machine learning is sometimes conflated with data mining, where the latter subfield focuses more on exploratory data analysis and is known as unsupervised learning. Machine learning can also be unsupervised and be used to learn and establish baseline behavioural profiles for various entities and then used to find meaningful anomalies.
Within the field of data analytics, machine learning is a method used to devise complex models and algorithms that lend themselves to prediction; in commercial use, this is known as predictive analytics. These analytical models allow researchers, data scientists, engineers, and analysts to "produce reliable, repeatable decisions and results" and uncover "hidden insights" through learning from historical relationships and trends in the data.
In the two days session Students learned how to implement code in python for machine learning technology. The course started with the basics of python programming language and continued from Artificial Intelligence to machine learning. Major part of deep learning was also covered in these two days sessions.

An expert lecture On Ergonomics and Internet of Things By Mr. Basavraj C. H., Director of BCS Innovations, Pune on 29th January 2016. He talked at length about what Ergonomics is all about. He said that Ergonomics is the process of designing or arranging workplaces, products and systems so that they fit the people who use them. Ergonomics (or ‘human factors’ as it is referred to in North America) is a branch of science that aims to learn about human abilities and limitations, and then apply this learning to improve people’s interaction with products, systems and environments.
Ergonomics aims to improve workspaces and environments to minimise risk of injury or harm. So as technologies change, so too does the need to ensure that the tools we access for work, rest and play are designed for our body’s requirements.
Why is Ergonomics important?
In the workplace: According to Safe Work Australia, the total economic cost of work-related injuries and illnesses is estimated to be $60 billion dollars. Recent research has shown that lower back pain is the world’s most common work-related disability – affecting employees from offices, building sites and in the highest risk category, agriculture.
Ergonomics aims to create safe, comfortable and productive workspaces by bringing human abilities and limitations into the design of a workspace, including the individual’s body size, strength, skill, speed, sensory abilities (vision, hearing), and even attitudes.
A highly energetic Expert Lecture we all experienced On Recent Research in Feature extraction and Pattern Recognition Dr. Mr. D. S. Guru, Professor and Nodal officer at University of Mysore, Mysore. We have organized n expert lecture on on “C, C++,.Net” by Mr Mukesh Jain, working in Microsoft and Mr Pravin Mukhedkar, working in IBM, on 20th March 2015. The made our students aware of the fact that the fundamental knowledge of C and C++ in recruiment process. They told the students that the knowledge of C and C++ are checked if you are applying for an IT and software related profiles within a company.
Following reaons they pointed out:
C and C++ are the general purpose programming language which is broadly applicable across various application domain from embedded micro controllers to supercomputers.
C and C++ are a programming language that is implemented on a wide variety of operating system platforms and used for hardware design. They contains both high level as well as low level language features. Besides its importance, C and C++ are used by the interviewer to judge the programming capabilities of a candidate.
These programming languages do not contain vast libraries unlike JAVA or Python for implementing data structures. Though C++ has standard template library but interviewer would be more interested to see the candidate themselves implementing complex data structures.
If there is no specific demands for the IT profile you are applying such as web development, android application development or any specific technology is not demanded like JAVA, python or C#, then they may go for asking C and C++ related question or even JAVA (if you have mentioned it in your resume).
Apart from knowledge of C and C++ for campus recruitment for IT and software profiles, they also check subjective knowledge in Database Management System, Operating System, Object Oriented Programming or sometimes compiler design. So alone knowledge of C and C++ may not lead you through the interview. So it would be better if you prepare above subject.

We have organized an Expert Lecture on “DBMS and Data mining and data warehouse” By Prof. Dr. Somayajulu NIT, Warangal. on 25th September 2013. Dr. Somayajulu explained that Data mining is the computing process of discovering patterns in large data sets involving methods at the intersection of machine learning, statistics, and database systems. It is an essential process where intelligent methods are applied to extract data patterns. It is an interdisciplinary subfield of computer science. The overall goal of the data mining process is to extract information from a data set and transform it into an understandable structure for further use. He discussed that the actual data mining task is the semi-automatic or automatic analysis of large quantities of data to extract previously unknown, interesting patterns such as groups of data records (cluster analysis), unusual records (anomaly detection), and dependencies (association rule mining, sequential pattern mining). This usually involves using database techniques such as spatial indices. Later on he explained the methodology, use and research importance of datamining, datawarehouses and DBMS.
