A Report on “Engineer’s Day” Celebration and Formation of CSI Council of Academic Year 2020-2021

Engineering is not merely knowing and being knowledgeable; engineering is not merely analysis; engineering is not merely the possession of the capacity to get elegant solutions to non-existent engineering problems; engineering is practicing the art of the organized forcing of technological change.

Despite the physical distance that separates us today, we thought it was important that we find a way to come together to show that the ties between the Engineers and The MGM's COEN are as strong as ever.

This year Engineer's Day celebration for many of us was different from those in the past: changing from barbecues with friends to virtual toasts; from patriotic face paint to protective face coverings, from festive fireworks to smaller celebrations at home with family…

MGM's College of Engineering's Department of Computer Science & Engineering has taken initiative to bring out the hard efforts of engineers and to motivate them. CSI council organized 52nd Engineer's day Celebration -- Remembering Sir M. Visvesvaraya on his 159th birth anniversary on September 15, 2020.

The Guest of honour for the event was Dr. Varsha Patil (BOS member at Pune University and Vice-Principal & head of CSE Department at Matoshri College of Engineering & Research Centre situated at Nashik.). She delivered a valuable talk on "Becoming Successful Computer Engineer". The event also included CSI Council Formation for the academic year 2020-21 and speeches by Shaikh Mubashira & Shruti Deulgaonkar on the life of Sir M. Visvesvaraya.

The event was organized by the CSI Students Council under the guidance of respected Director, Dr. Mrs. Geeta S. Lathkar, Student's Branch Counsellor & Head of Computer Science and Engineering Department, Dr. Archana Rajurkar, CSI Co-ordinator Mr. Rahulsingh G. Bisen and faculty co-ordinator Ms. Nikita S. Pande. All the faculties and the students of the CSE department attended the function. The event received good response.
